Ms. Evans will be responsible for development and implementation of public relations strategies, media relations, speechwriting, marketing communications and overall PR counsel for the Conference’s incoming president Mayor James Garner of the Incorporated Village of Hempstead in New York.

The United States Conference of Mayors is the official non-partisan organization of the nation’s 1,183 cities with populations of 30,000 or more. The group’s primary role is to promote effective national urban/suburban policy. Official policy recommendations developed by US Mayors collectively are presented to President and Congress.

Interacting with mayors in the US and from around the world, Ms. Evans will be actively engaged in counseling the Conference President during his inauguration at the 71st Annual Meeting of the US Conference of Mayors and The 2nd International Conference of Mayors held concurrently June 5 –10th, 2003 in Denver, Colorado. Key activities will be webcast.

Ms. Evans is also nationally known as the president of The Black Public Relations Society of Greater New York.
